Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Text entered in a search box may be sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Avoid entering more information than the search requires.
Messages and Contact Submissions
This site does not provide a contact-submission form. If a future direct-contact channel is added, information sent through it will be used to handle that message and maintain the channel.
Data We Gather Automatically
Like most websites, the service may receive technical information such as browser type, device type, approximate location derived from an IP address, pages viewed, referring address, and visit time. This information is used to operate, secure, and understand use of the service.
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies or similar tools may help preserve settings, measure traffic, and support advertising or analytics. Browser settings can limit cookies, although some features may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and voluntarily supplied information may be used to operate the site, improve reliability, prevent misuse, understand aggregate traffic, meet legal obligations, and communicate about a direct request where a response channel exists. It is not used to maintain an official Carteret court record.
No Court-Record Data on File
Carteret County Court Docket does not host the official case index, docket, court file, hearing calendar, or certified record. In North Carolina, the Clerk of Superior Court maintains county court files. The eCourts Portal is a public access interface for available information, not this site's database.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search providers, advertising services, analytics vendors, and official linked resources operate under their own policies. A query run in a partner tool is governed by that provider's terms and privacy rules, not this policy alone.
Links to Other Websites
Links to the Carteret Clerk, the eCourts Portal, statutes, calendars, and other external resources leave this site. Review the privacy notice of the destination before providing personal information. North Carolina court-file access is governed by the clerk-record framework in G.S. 7A-109, not by this private site.
Who Might See Your Data
Information may be processed by service providers that support hosting, security, analytics, advertising, or search functionality, or disclosed when a valid legal requirement applies. Personal information is not sold as a product by this site.
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information handled by the service. No online system can guarantee complete security, and users should avoid placing sensitive information into third-party search tools unless the provider requires it and its policy is acceptable.
Users Under 18
The service is not directed to children under 18, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from them. A parent or guardian who believes a child supplied personal data may request review of that concern through any available site contact channel.
Your Data Rights
Users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held by this service where applicable. North Carolina's G.S. 132-6 addresses public-record inspection and copies, but it does not convert this private resource into a court-record custodian. Court-file requests belong with the Carteret Clerk of Superior Court.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as the service changes. The version posted here applies from its effective date.
